What Causes Lumps On Upper Thighs And Severe Swelling In Foot?
I recently had a total hip replacement 3 months ago I have been feeling much worse since the surgery. I get lump like knots on my upper thighs and needle or pin like feeling. I also experience a lot of swelling on my foot. I just had general sedation. being that they were unable to do the nerve block for some reason unknown. Is this command or can they be some nerve damage and mussel feels like they have collapse or something. Please help am in a lot of pain and taking pain relive medication tramadol which doesn t seem to relive my problem. ps
Based on the history you have shared, it seems to be caused due to some nerve impingement in the surgical procedure or by surrounding structures. It's better to get an orthopedic surgeon review or by a neurosurgeon and if needed MRI may be needed. Meanwhile OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen can be used along with muscle relaxants like Tizaindine and potent analgesics like Gabapentin can be helpful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
