What Causes Lump Under The Groin Along With Headaches?

I have herpes Symplex, six times a year I will get it in my pubic area, Monday, I noticed it was in my groin area over my lymph node. First time ever here ( never in or on my genital area). On my lip mostly, I think I transferred it from there. Since it is a viral infection I would scrub it and put Campho-Phenique to to kill the infection. This used to work. Now it drains blood for a short time, and there is a lump under this area in my groin area the size of a large walnut. I keep it clean, change dressing 2-3 times a day. Herpes simplex usually clears up n 10 days. But it s on the same leg I had a total hip replacement. I have had 1 boil in my life, this is different. No fever, I bit of a head ache only.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It seems your chronic recurring infection is being secondarily infected by bacteria and you need oral antivirals and antibiotics. Before that, you need local examination by an expert and get it exactly diagnosed and specifically treated. Please consult a physician / skin specialist.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
