What Causes Lump Near The Hip Bone With Swelling And Tenderness?

swollen lymph node
Just last night, below my hip bone and above my groin area I found a swollen, tender lump. smaller than a quarter, just over the size of a nickel. it is painful only when stressed; walking, stretching, pushing, etc. the only other symptom I can recognize are the chills. I barely slept last night the chills were so bad. this morning they are off and on. the bump is not visible when laying down, and barely so when I am standing up. Also, it is only on the left side, the right side of my hip is absolutely normal.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
It seems that you might be having inflamed enlarged lymph node in your groin area.
This can give rise to chills and fever as well.
This indicates that you might be having some bacterial infection in surrounding area.
Consult your doctor and get examined.
You may require one course of antibiotic medicine.
Ok and take care.
