What Causes Lump In The Throat?

Hi my name is Erik white and I m 18 years old. I have asthma and no other known medical conditions or history aside from a couple of sprained and fractured ankles. I m asking in regards to a bump/ swell in my throat. I have went to the doctors during the months of June and August and they both have said it will go do with time , but it hasn t. I ve looked up symptoms of throat cancer and none match but having a physical bump/ lump in my throat. It doesn t hurt, I don t feel it, and I don t have bad coughs or anything. The only symptoms I ve experienced is excessive mucus but I figured it was just a cold. There s no puss or liquids coming from the bump/ lump. Any suggestions of what it might be will be appreciated. If you want, I can send a picture of the bump via email. Thank you
