What Causes Lump In The Neck?

Hello, I have this lump in my neck, it appeared yesterday around 5 in the afternoon. Around that time I had been eating some Chinese food and I was eating a piece of chicken when I suddenly ended up swallowing a piece of chicken wrongly. I didn't notice any lumps in my next until a little while after and it hasn't gone away at all sometimes it feels like its gone but then it comes right back I tried everything from swallowing a piece of bread to drinking hot tea and gargoling warm salt water and nothing is helping... Also the right side of my neck feels weird like swollen maybe and whenever I swallow there's this clicking sound that happens ... I'm scared because I'm praying that I don't have cancer

Hello and welcome to HCM,
All lumps in the neck are not due to cancer and it is unlikely for the lump to appear after swallowing a piece of chicken.
It is quite likely that you noticed the lump while swallowing the piece of chicken.
Lumps in neck are commonly due to lymph node enlargement, thus I suggest you to consult your physician for clinical assessment.
In case there is lymph node enlargement, an aspiration cytology of the lump will be required.
In this investigation, cells will be aspirated from the swelling, stained with appropriate stain and examined microscopically to find out the origin and nature of enlargement.
Thus, a clinical assessment is required to further work up.

Thanks and take care
