General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The weed smoke can cause allergic reaction on mucus membrane of throat leading to soreness and burning of throat. Such changes in throat cause enlarged tonsils..as an immune response. The lump you are feeling must be this tonsillar swelling. Stopping Cannabis smoking / hot saline gargles and over the counter anti inflammatory pills would help. No response suggests need of antibiotic for suitable prescribtion and dosage consult your family physician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
