hi Anju

Welcome to HealthcareMagic.

From your history it appears that you have Sciatica.Sciatica is most commonly due to vertebral disc problems like disc prolapse , Potts spine. We would require your xray , MRI scan reports of spine to give you a better advice. If possible please post them as a reply to this comment.Physiotherapy and vitamin supplements play a key role in gaining back the function of sciatica limbs.

Take care.

I m 16, 6 foot 3, 180 pounds, and i have asthma and allergies but no other bone or muscle problems. I was working out about a week and a half ago and I was do an ab workout by lifting my legs that had weight on them. About 20 pounds each leg. I think it pulled a muscle in my back or something because ever since i added that part to my workout I ve been having back pain in my lower back. I was just wondering if I did pull something in my back and if so how i should treat it. I haven t been doing the weight ab workout since the pain but i have been working out regularly.

Hey I have had back pain for about three years now and it just gets progressively worse I went to the doctor and they just suggested physical therapy which I went to. but they never liked taken an MRI or x-rays or something should I suggest that? or should I wait until like the doctor does? it s spread down my legs so that it gets the point where like I can feel them l, I ll have shoulder pain, neck pain, and upper and lower back pain I ll breathe in and my back will crack. It ll get to the point where like I don t even want to get out of bed in the morning it s just gotten really bad and I don t know the doctors just they don t really do anything about it. they haven t like said like what it is yet and it s been like three years what Am I supposed to do? I m a 16 year old dancer whose been out of dance for a year now because of my back.

Hi there, I wanted to know if I could get some information about my back issue . I am a 49 year old woman in fairly good health. I am 5 9 tall and weigh 195 lbs. In the past year I have changed my lifestyle and have lost over 50 lbs. In the fall of 1994 my L4-5 disc bulged/hernitated and it also affected my right side sciatic nerve. After a hospital stay and 6 months of physio my back was not getting any better. I eventually had to have surgery. I had a discetomy and the L4-4 level and a limited laminectomy posteriorly at this operative site as well. My back seemed better for a few years then started to act up again. In 2002 I had an MRI done and the diagnosis stated theat there was a generalized bulging of the reamaining intervertebral disc at the L4-5 level without evidence of focality. Also, it stated that at the L4-5 level the posterior facet joints demonstrate very early mild symmetric degenerative change. Again, I took things easy, had physio and things seemed to be ok. Fast forward to 2011 and again I am in pain and limited mobility. My days are the worse in the mornings and in the evenings. I purchased a great bed 6 months ago because of my back problems. I have low back pressure and pain, as well as pain in my right buttock with pain radiating down my right leg. It is hard to perform any tasks below my waist ie tying up my shoe laces, picking up dropped items, washing in feet etc. Could yoy tell me a what my prognosis may be and what I may be looking forward to. Thank you.

Hi - I have numerous non-specific symptoms: fatigue, digestive problems (early satiety, poor appetite, constipation, excessive wind, bloating etc.), chronic pain (not relieved by standard issue pain meds/cannot tolerate) head, neck, shoulders, mid and lower back and what feels like nerve pain in left thigh etc. Also mouth ulcers and some difficulties swallowing. Persistent pain ULQ and what feels like a bulge in intestine under left ribcage (I can pop this back in by putting pressure on it). I have life long incontinence issues and recurrent UTI s over last few years. I am 57 yrs old and highly motivated by my career - I have no undue social stressors. At this point, while my doctor is an OK practioner I do not feel heard and I do not have the energy to argue my case...I run the risk of being categorised as difficult/fussy/ageing/hypocondriac etc etc but I am exhausted at being dismissed and given the run around. I have positive ANA for several years. Comments or suggestions would be most welcome. Thanks...Karen

I had fusion spine surgery on c-2 -c6 because I have spasmatic torticollis involentery my brain triggers chronic pain wore my protein between my spine bones . I had surgery March 17, this year 2and a half months ago. My spasms pulls my ncck down. They don t have a neck brass to fit me. Will this weaken my bone mass or wii my neck get strong like it was before my surgery? Very scared. My spasms never pulled my neck down and I know the first 12weeks your neck nots to pull down so the bone mass can fuse around my spine bone.

Hello Doctor Grief; my name is Richard Hartsfield, from Alabama. I am a 61 year old veteran and I have been suffering chronic pain (90% arthritic), amongst other things. My doctors at the V.A. in Birmingham, Alabama have been looking after my needs until 16 to 20 months ago. I was told by my doctor at the V.A. that he was being mandated by his SUPERIORES that he was to start the process of taking myself along with all other Veterans that eventually practically all Vets would not be getting any narcotic pain relievers I was fortunate to have an old high school buddy who is a physician refer me to another physician who would see to my needs. I take anywhere from 150 to 170m.g. s of methadone for a long time and am afraid that ,(well I,m afraid that for some unforseeable reason, that I won t be able to get the meds I need. I am a caretaker for my 86 year old mother and it is a gut wrenching thing to watch her slowly die a little each day. To make a long storey short, I am looking ahead and will eventually need my pain meds (legally) each month without the stress of worrying if I will be able to get my meds. Respectfully, Richard Hartsfield
