What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain And Back Pain Post IUI Treatment For Infertility?

Hi, I had IUI done on 24th and 25th of July 2015 since I have pcod, since 25th i am taking progynova 2mg and Naturogest 200 VT. My periods is due today that is August 5th. On 29th, 30th and 31st July i had lower abdomen and lower back pain is it because of implantation. The pain is reduced now but still have a little back pain. Is the pain because i am supposed to get periods and because I am taking progynova and naturogest i am not getting it. Please advise if I can be pregnant. Doctor has asked me to take pregnancy test on 11th August

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
The pain in the lower abdomen and back pain you were experiencing is not related to implantation, but could be due to the procedure you have undergone, that is IUI. Pain should subside by taking proper rest. Keep yourself well hydrated. You can take Tablet.Paracetamol for pain if it is not tolerable.
Taking medications prescribed will definitely help you to prepare and progress with pregnancy if the egg gets fertilized by the procedure and gets implanted.
The pregnancy status will only be known through the blood test determining serum beta-HCG levels as advised.
If the level has increased to substantiate levels, it indicates that you have conceived.
Further you need to get ultrasound scan done to know weather the pregnancy is viable or not. Once fetal pole and cardiac activity is detected by around 8 to 10 weeks, then it is confirmed that you have a viable gestation.
Hope the information provided would be useful.
Wishing you the best outcome.
