What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain After An Abortion Procedure?

Hi I had a medical abortion on Monday and passed something 6hours later after the procedure. I went back the next day to get cleaned. I bleed for 3days since Monday and not heavily. I still feel very pregnant, my lower back is killing me, I have mild cramping waist Down but mostly on my left side. My breasts have shooting pains and have a headache on my right side. Last night (Saturday) I started having bright red bleeding doesn t cover a pantyliner. Should I be worried that the pregnancy didn t pass?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear mam
Some times after the procedure we have a retained poc(product of conception) as it is called, which leads to bleeding, pain and infection along with fever.
More over please repeat a check up at the ObGyn Opd for such suspicion.
Please be very clear that the pregnancy has passed,it is just a aftermath of the procedure. we may have a irregular period for 2-3 months then every thing will be ok.Just continue the prescribed medication for a week as advised and please concentrate on diet & rest .

Hope this helps
most welcome for further queries.
