What Causes Lower Abdominal Discomfort?

Hello, I am having lower abdominal discomfort (not real pain) in the center of the lowest part of my abdomen, near the pelvic region I am 56 years old, I had a complete hysterectomy about 8 years ago. I don t know if I have ever even had a UTI, I am not prone to those at all. I am wondering what could cause discomfort in this area. Thank-you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection.

I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the symptoms.

I also suggest to do a urine test to confirm the diagnosis.

If the diagnosis is confirmed, I suggest to use a cycle of antibiotics to treat the infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
