What Causes Low Urine Output?

I am concerned because the strength of my urinary flow is decreased well as the amount i am urinating. I drink a lot of water and coffee everyday and urinate quite often. Recently I noticed that I am going several hours without needing to urinate. Sometimes the sensation to urinate dissipates. I am concerned that the urine is refluxing back into my kidneys. I do not have any urinary pain, itching, blood or cloudy urine.

Hi,

First of all, there is a chance that your body requirements of water might have increased recently either due to hot whether or you might be going out for work more due to which your urine output is not that much.

Regarding the decreased flow of urine, I would like to know your age as in the older age group the chances of prostate enlargement is present and this may cause a reduction in urine flow.

As far as the risk of urine reflux is concerned, you can always get an ultrasound KUB and a urine dipstick which will let us know of any problems. Then you can also do RENAL FUNCTION TESTS to see if you have any serious kidney problems which are causing the kidney to make lesser urine as compared to before. These tests will generally rule out any serious cause of concern regarding your problems.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
