What causes low urine output and abdominal pain on the right side?

Yes. I have lupus that has been progressing rapidly. I was recently placed on Dapsone 50mg daily a month ago and have been doing worse since. My Rheumotologist is difficult to get in touch with lately. Anyways, over the past week I have had decrease urine output with right sided abdominal pain that started today. Today I have only urinated twice, at 0530 and 1430. I had my appendix removed a year ago. I was wondering If this could be a issue I should attempt to contact him about or my primary physician.

If decreased urine output with pain in loin may be due to
1. Renal stone or pyelonephritis.
2. Lupus induced nephritis.
3. Dapsone-induced hypersensitivity and renal failure (very rare).
Get it done urine examination and ultrasound abdomen. Serum creatinine and serum electrolytes levels etcetera. If any abnormal reading, please consult your rheumatologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
