What Causes Low Sex Drive And Erectile Dysfunction?

So I’m a male, now aged 63 and I’ve been having very bad night sweats, as if I had a bad fever but just keep getting it night after night but do get the odd couple of nights break from it, I’ve had a blood test for my thyroid along with a week of temperature taken every 4 hours, which proved to be ok.

I’ve also noticed that I get very bad sweats when outside working, and this is not from working in the sun, it’s not just sweating, it’s a flood and just get soaked.

The above has settled in the past couple of weeks; don’t quite flood the bed now.

Along with the above I now have a very low sex drive and ED which can only be helped with Viagra; this is a big drop from doing it 4/5 times a week without any trouble or pills, and is not bragging. (I find viagra a bit not me, and can have the opposite effect, ie I’m not a machine)

I get fatigued very easily, I notice this when out walking my dog, when it comes to hills and big slopes that were no trouble, now get short of breath and lethargic half way up them or more, and going out walking is one thing I like doing, and fatigued when working outside is also getting me down.

I’m having trouble concentrating on any tasks I’m doing and things seem to take longer to do.

Think I may have lost some muscle bulk as my thighs seem smaller and had trouble moving the sacks of olives this year, as these are about the only real heavy things I move these days or I’m just getting old, a sad word to say “old”

I’m having trouble keeping my weight down, even though I’m not eating more and my weight has gone up by around 5to6k, and this does not help with my walking or working.

So following some advice from a website, on what we think is my problem, I’ve cut out drinking alcohol more or less apart from the odd glass of red wine (medicinal purposes), increased my vitamin intake on A, B, E and zinc, I’ve taken vitamins for years and believe in them, and I’ve also started to take horny goat weed as well, recommended for what we think the problem is.

Now we think the problem could be low testosterone, from reading different web sites and one called webmd covers most of what I think the problem is.

But then is this down to low iron levels or iron deficiency, I do get lethargic and a shortness of breath when out dog walking on hills, and this can be any hill, and now for the but, I’ve just loss a lot of weight on a diet and part of this has been walking we a weighted back pack of up to 40 lbs on a good day, now doing this I don’t stop till I get to the top.

So one outweighs the other?

The doctor I see thinks its just anxiety, but as my wife says, anxiety, anxiety about what and I’m too laid back, even when things are stacked up, I just sort things out and get on with life. So he prescribed the viagra.

It’s when we looked up about night sweats that we also found about the link with low testosterone and kind of started to put things together about my low sex drive and ED, and also on webmd found out that ED could be the a signal for a heart condition.
