What Causes Low Potassium Level In Blood While Treating Cervical Cancer?

My mom is cervical cancer patient n under going chemotherapy once a week and radiotherapy 5 days a week ...now her potassium level has gone below normal range so we could not give her chemo on her due date. We r giving her potassium injection through IV since last 2 days but still her potassium level is not increasing. What may b the reason for potassium level not bing increased. She has vomiting problem but is under control with emeset medicine. She also passes lose motion 7 to 8 times in a day. How can she increase potassium level. From 2nd week of concurrent chemoradiation therapy treatment she started vomiting so she takes emeset tablets 3 times daily. Is it not a problem to take emeset tablets continuously for 4 weeks 3 times a day.

I really appreciate your concern, if the cause of low potassium is due to loss of fluid then it need to be corrected that vomiting need to be treated first, more over if this the malignancy then it could be the reason for that, but more important is clinical symptoms due to hypokalemia if it is not manifested then no need to worry about this hope this information helps.
