What Causes Low Hemoglobin And Monocyte Count?

i was taking medicine happi 10mg last 3 years having a heartburn.after endoscopy nothing found but i couldnt stop the medicine, so i continued taking that.4 months back, i had severe neck pain and consulted physician he gave me gabapentine 100 /day and caldob 500 2 times /day for 4 months. after i take the medicone everything was fine. But after i stopped the medicine the pain coming back so now i continued taking it. now i checked my blood test it found - HB less and monocyte low. i am having slight blood loss through my HB 8.5 gm%, TC 7,000 Cells/cumm, Ploymorphs 46 %, Lymphocytes 50 %, Eosinophils 04 %, Monocytes 00 %, ESR 10 mm/hr.

Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Hemoglobin of 8.5g% is less. It appears to be possibly nutritional.
2. You need to take vit B12, folic acid and iron supplements. A complete hemogram would identify the type of anemia based on MCV and MCH. Peripheral smear can also help in confirmation. Based on that, further vitamin assay or serum ferritin levels, appropriate treatment can be started.
3. In the meanwhile, take diet rich in fish, egg, lean meat, pulses and green leafy vegetables. Based on cause of anemia, appropriate treatment can be started. Continue other medications, they are long term medications. Do not stop without consulting your doctor.
