What Causes Low Grade Fever?

I am a 61 year old male, and have experiencing intermittent low grade fevers (about three days, then gone, comes back again a week later for three days and then gone, comes again maybe a month later, than gone) and sweating. Any idea what could possibly be causing this?

dear sir
I understand the problem you are going through.A mild or low grade fever off an on although might be normal in seasonal changes or place changes,if such episodes are repeatative we need to investigate.A general health check up with routine investigation will be enough at the beginning.
However let me add that we need to take sufficient amount of water and fluids, as some times due to dehydration or decrease fluids in body also show up as a feverish feeling which becomes habitual,
hope this helps
most welcome for further queries.
