What Causes Low Grade Fever Along With Swollen Lymph Nodes?

I had my left ovary removed the beginning of Sept., I had went back to the Dr. almost 2 wks ago Friday with two of my sx sites infected. The Dr. put me on ceph.500mg bid, so I finished the meds this sat. and started to have a low grade fever, lymph nodes on my neck are swollen, and my leg and hip joints are hurting, but I do have a sore throat. Could any of this be to my sx?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have low grade fever along with swollen lymph nodes which is due to infection and inflammation in tonsils known as tonsillitis. Sometimes swelling of lymph nodes also occur due to low immunity or incomplete of antibiotics course. I would suggest you to get following investigations done such as

1) Complete blood count
2) Throat swab test
3) Liver function test

Doctor may also palpate the swlooen lymph nodes as a part of diagnosis .You should visit general physician once and get it examined and start treatment after proper diagnosis. Till then avoid intake of cold carbonated drinks. Avoid oily and fried food substances. Take combination of antibiotic along with Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen. Do warm saline gargles daily.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
