What Causes Low Fever?

Hi my name is Jenny my oldest son is 14 he has had open heart surey twice, the last one was in 09 for parachute like mitral valve at that time they told us that he would need mitral valve replacement done later on. He had a fever with a headache about a week or 2 ago but he started getting another low fever for no reason just a couple hours ago. when we go to his appointments with the cardiologist he always ask me if he has any fevers for no reason. we don t go back to the cardiologist untill march 13th. should i be conserned and see if they can squeez him in earlier or just wait....he is 14 but with how fast he grows he looks 16 or 17

Dear Jenny,
It is better to see a doctor, as in his case a temperature may be a sign of an inflammation on the valve. It is possible that he just caught cold, but to be on the safe side it is better to see a doctor and undergo examinations to find out if there is nothing serious.
