What Causes Low Blood Pressure And A Lump In The Throat?

Yes please. My husband just had a heart attack 3 weeks ago. he was first diagnosed with copd because he smoked and his heart symptoms were undetected. He was just got out of the hospital again on Monday, we think they had given him too much bp medication and his bp was dropping to 86\65. He told me earlier today that he has a lump at the base of his throat. Could this be caused by the medications they have him taking for the stent they placed? He is 55 years old and has smoked for 40 of those until 3 weeks ago when he quit. any ideas?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

A BP of 86/65 is low and can indicate that his doctor needs to take a look at the medications that he is using to see if one of them needs to be altered.

The lump at the base of his throat is not likely related to the medication that he is using. This is not a known side effect of blood pressure or cholesterol medication.
If that is bothersome, it also needs to be assessed.

I hope this helps
