My 34 year old daughter has not been feeling like herself for about 6 months with increasing anxiety, fatigue, and having difficulty sleeping. In the last 5 weeks she started with a achiness, fever of 100.6, fatigue, and swollen lymph glands in her neck. She went to Care Now because it was the weekend and they told her she had a sinus infection and was put on antibiotics. She didn t get to feeling better so she went to her allergist whom she receives injections for once a month to have her sinuses re-checked. He said her sinuses looked fine, but referred her to an ENT for swollen lymph glands in her neck, and endocrinologist because an x-ray showed an enlarged thyroid. The ENT put her on steroids for 2 weeks, and her follow up appointment after shows that the lymph nodes may still be mildly swollen, but not of a concern. Her endocrinonogist ordered a battery of labwork for her thyroid, which all came back good except a low TSH of 0.02 with normal T3 and T4 levels. Graves disease was ruled out. He has now ordered a CT/PET Scan of her thyroid which is getting scheduled. Her next appointment with the endocrinoligist isn t until July 25th. She continues to be extremely exhausted, not being able to function with care of a 1 year old baby and her neck is tender. What could cause this low of a TSH level and hyperthyroid symptoms in the absence of normal T3 and T4 levels that is making her continue with symptoms of fatigue, anxiety, increased motility of the bowel, feeling hot, and in general feeling terrible?
