What Causes Low HCT Levels In Blood?

I am taking testertone therapy. I went to have my pellets reinserted today and was told my HCT level was 56.3 and was not able to get my pellets because of this. I have been referred to a Hemotologists. Why has caused this to happen and what can I expect when I go to this Doctor?

Hello and welcome to HCM,
HCT stands for hematocrit.
Hematocrit is the measurement of packed red blood cells.
The upper limit of packed cell volume in females is less than.
Value of 56.3 is a high value.
Thus, this high value of packed cell volume has to be investigated and managed accordingly.
High packed cell volume is usually due to polycythemia which may be primary or secondary.
You will need to consult a hematologist as suggested by your treating doctor.
