What Causes Loss Of Voice?

I had a real bad migraine the other day and my eye hurt to move it or push on it. went to er and they said it was just a migraine and gave me a shot for the pain. When I woke up the next morning my voice was almost gone. now 3 days later my voice is still not back to normal. what could be wrong?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have loss of voice. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like viral infections , bacterial infection , exposure to harmful chemicals or allergens , acid reflux , frequent sinus infections , smoking or overusing. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , throat swab test , viral culture test or endoscopy . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like amoxicillin or penicillin along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also prescribe anti viral . For now do warm saline gargles and apply warm compresses externally on larynx .
