What Causes Loss Of Vision?

My son-in-law is a pilot on the Mississippi River. They
have staph on the boat. He had an ear infection, then
his eye swelled and he could not see. Now he is on
medical leave. The swelling has gone down on the outside, but he still cannot see. His eye is still
swol len on the inside. What is wrong?

It can be because of conjunctivitis and needs antibiotic eye drops very frequently like 1hourly. But if developed ULCER on black part of the eye then needs emergency consultation with an ophthalmologist or a Cornea specialist.
