What Causes Loss Of Taste After Myocardial Infarction?

My aunt had a myocardial infarction last week and had an emergency stent put in. It was her coronary artery that was blocked. She has been complaining that she can no longer taste food. Is this common? Does it go away? And finally why does this occur?
