hi,
wel;come to healthcaremagic forum
dysentry may be either bacterial or amoebic . you may have to treat with antibiotics or amoebicidal drugs along with fluids.so you have to consult a physician and do a stool routine and culture to find out the cause

Hello manoj ;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
Loose motions with blood suggest infection in stomach for which you need to take antibiotic so please consult a doctor and get prescribed an antibiotic and the loose motions will be controlled once the infection is treated.
Thanks

Hi
I am a 36 year old female. I usually experience symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Recently, after eating undercooked chicken in a restaurant I started experiencing stomach disomfort then a few days later I started to have sometimes hard stools and sometimes loose stools with blood and mucus. I went to my doctor who diagnosed my symptoms as being a dysentry infection due to amebiasis (without stool test). After a week of treatment, I went for a colonoscopy and now the biopsy results say that I have Crohn's disease even though I never had any symptmoms. I went back to my family doctor and he was reluctant to accept the result and suggested that it could be a sort of a pseudo-Crohn due to the bacterial infection that I previously had. What should I believe? Could amebiasis cause colon ulcers?
