What Causes Loose Stools After Having Gall Bladder Removal?

I have had a problem with lose BM,s since I had my gll bladder removed 10 years ago. when I complained to the physician, he gave me a prescription for micronized colestipol hcl. but after reading the side effects I am not sure I should take . I am also taking anastrozole.... I don t like racing to the restroom. Is there something better?

Thanks for your query.
Noted your history of loose bowel movements since 10 years when the gall bladder was removed. Physician gave you micronized colestipol, but you have not taken after reading the side effects. It works by binding bile acids and hence not allowing the fats to be absorbed. So do not worry a the dose can be titrated like once a day or so.
You are already taking Anastrozole, this also can be the cause indirectly.
Please get your thyroid functions done and see if more you have to take treatment for that too.
I would advise you to get the stool and other tests done, take a course of metronidazole, go for colonoscopy and CT scan of the abdomen. If all are normal, means there may be IBS, that is irritable bowel syndrome.
If something is found in the tests, please get the proper treatment and you may be alright.
