Hello there, thanks for writing in. Well, it would have been helpful to learn how far you are through your menstrual cycle. Well, your spotting could be because of mid month ovulation bleeding as some women do experience a little spotting along with mild
lower abdominal discomfort or pain that lasts for a couple of hours to one day .
The other reasons could be a sore cervix ( neck of the womb) which is also called cervical erosion or
ectropion, a fibroid or
endometrial polyp, endometrial thickening (
hyperplasia) due to hormonal imbalance (
polycystic ovaries ) which is unlikely in your case as you have had regular cycles so far,
pregnancy and
implantation bleeding and cervical malignancies.
As you haven't mentioned your entire medical history, I suggest you to take up a home pregnancy test in case if you think it is appropriate at the moment.
The next thing is you can wait for couple of days for the spotting to settle down on its own ( if it is related to ovulation) failing which you may need to meet your OB/GYN to examine you to check the source of bleeding and treat you appropriately.
Hope this helped a bit. Take care.
