What Causes Lichenoid Dermatitis?

Hi, I went to Stanford for a skin biopsy for these dark marks left from rashes on my body. They would start out itchy and red, and would be raised, and eventually the more I itches the darker it got. Most of them are little dots, less than 1cm. However, I have 4 very large ones, 1 on the back of my right shoulder, 1 on the back of my left thigh, and 2 on the side of my left thigh. It was diagnosed as Lichenoid Dermatitis. Now, I have these dark marks all over my body, for about 3, almost 4, years now. What can i do to get rid of these scars?

Hi..
welcome to healthcaremagic.com and myself Dr. Atishay Bukharia would be answering your questions..

Lichenoid dermatitis is the term used for band like lymphocytic infiltrate over histopathological examination, it most cases it is an autoimmune reaction and may require steroid for it's treatment.
Lichenoid dermatitis have a tendency of exacerbation on itching so along with steroids, antihistaminic is also of prime importance..

hope it helps
