What Causes Legs To Be Bowed?

hi.my son is 15months old.he is 83cms in height and weighs around 15kgs.his left leg is bowed.sometimes it appears straight and sometimes it appears as if it has been bowed from above the knee.i did get an x-ray done, and showed it to a doctor.he has prescribed a calcium syrup with some exercise.i have read a lot of articals on bow legs, and heard that they grow out of it naturally by the age 3 or 4,but still i am a little worried about my baby.do i again get an x-ray done and show it to a specialist..please advice.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Yes, that is a normal growth pattern of children while it appears bowed which in actual is normal for their age. But does doctor said anything about rickets or related something then you may need a follow up every 3 to 6 months.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
