What Causes Leg And Groin Pains In Children?

Hello, my 5 year old daughter gets pain in her right leg, groin area, she told me it happened at school and she couldn't walk for a little while. she is perfectly healthy 5 year old (37inches tall, 47 lbs) she has complained about it before but it's usually in the evenings at home and after some leg stretches and massaging it gets better, but it seems to be getting worse. she has also been complaining about her right knee cap she says it feels like its bleeding inside and hurts but she doesn't cry or yell and it seems to go away after a few minutes, this has been going on for at least 6 months. I thought it was growing pains but I am comtemplating taking her to the doctor.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM forum,
It very well seems like growing pain. But pain in the groin area is unlikely. If the knee pain you referring to is not very significant, not restricting her joint movement and no redness over the joint or swelling over the joint, need not worry. If the symptoms are persisting and not subsiding with gentle massage or any of the signs that i mentioned above is seen, better you get her evaluated.
Happy to give any further clarifications.
Take care.
