What causes left upper abdominal discomfort?

I have been experiencing periodic pain/discomfort LUQ for several months. It has become more persistent, only relieved somewhat by arching my back/hyper-extending my abdomen. Pain seems to be internal, at the bottom and just under the ribs. No change in bowel habits and no bleeding. What could be causing this?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Pain abdomen relieved by hyper extending your spine can be one of many reasons including involving your spleen, kidney etc. My suggestion would be to visit a doctor and get evaluated starting with ultrasound of abdomen.

Hope this helped you, please let me know about your reports. Let me know if I can assist you further.
