Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a history of kidney stones and I m having pain on my left side; I m quite sure it is kidney stone related. I m using pain pills prescribed to me for just this wonderful occasion. I know that the ER cannot do anything to help, but I am concerned that I could possibly have or get an infection. Should I get an appointment with my Urologist to have it checked out?
It may be due to renal stone. Still for further assessment you may require complete hemogram, ultrasound abdomen after urologist consultation. Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.
Keep your self hydrated. You can take syp cital in case of burning urination. or pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
