What Causes Late Period Along With Diarrhea?

Hi. I'm a day or two late for my period and I'm usually neve late I haven't had my last period for 29 days (sense the first day or my last period). I usually get it every 28 days or 24 days. I haven't had any cramps at all and the last two days I have had diarrhea. I took a ept yesterday and it was negative. Just wondering what is up.

Pregnancy tests detect the HCG hormone which is released in increasing amounts as pregnancy progresses.

It is normally detectable by day 11 to 14 of pregnancy so if the test was done at the appropriate time then it is accurate.

There are other causes of delayed period such as: (1)emotional stress or illness
(2)physical illness or stress
(3)inadequate diet
(4)extreme physical activity
(5)abnormal levels of thyroid hormone
(6)high levels of prolactin hormone
(7)polycystic ovarian syndrome

It is possible because of the physical stress of the diarrhea, your period is delayed, if the test is a true negative.
