What Causes Large Painful Boil On Groin Area?

Hi, I am a female, few days ago I have developed a big large boil adjacent to my private area, meaning lower groin (thigh). I have been using home remedies i.e. warm compression, tea tree oil, pain killers ( paracetamol and ibuprofen). The boil has shrunk but still causing me a lot of pain and discomfort. I m not able to sit, walk and in agony. I could see some the head developing, may have some pus but it is so tender upon touch and sore. I know my last option would be antibiotics but I rather not take myself to see my GP as where the boil is situated. If there is other options please suggest.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hey! from what you have shared sounds like you are developing an abcess which needs urgent evaluation by your GP. Its ok to be shy about conditions at or near to private areas, you can always request for a female physician to look at it or your mom or anyone you are comfortable with to accompany you.
