Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood your concern. It is not necessary that everyone goes into labor in the 40th week. You can wait for ten days after the due date provided the baby is fine. If your menstrual calendar is very accurate, your dates are the best way of calculating your expected date of delivery. Sonogram can pick up almost precise dates when performed very early in pregnancy. Later, there may be errors. If you do not see any symptoms of labor even after ten days past dates, you will be induced under specialist supervision. Hope this helps.
