What Causes Lack Of Appetite In A Person Undergoing Chemotherapy?

Hello sir. my name is Hasib i am texting you regarding my father illness, he has liver cancer and my brother took him to India for treatment he got chemo one time, now my father is very week and currently just taking these pills for his sickness: Ursodeoxycholic acid, Pandtocid, Costrioya. He does not eat anything just little bit fruit and IV that is it.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Lack of appetite is also known as anorexia. It is a common side effect of chemotherapy, which is indended to kill fast dividing cells such as cancer cells. This side effect is due to killing of intestinal mucosa to lower extent by chemotherapy.
There is also damage to taste receptors of tongue. so patient has altered taste of food & he doesn't eat much. Therefore IV fluids are given. Once chemotherapy is finished, this problem will decrease on its own.
