What Causes Knot On Eye And Cheekbone After A Punch?

I was punched on friday, right by my eye and cheeckbone. I didnt think it was bad at all, it got swollen, and i got a black eye. the swelling is down, but now i have a knot where i was punched, its hard. What could this be? will it cure on its own? the area only hurts when i press on it.

It seems from the history that you had a punch injury to the eye and cheek bone. Following the injury you are having black eye. This is because of hematoma as a result of collection of blood in the layers of the eyelid.
This is a self resolving condition and it will decrease over 2-3 weeks depending on the severity of edema. The treatment is by cold compression and use of anti-inflammatory drugs.
But need to investigate to rule out fracture of the underlying bones by radiological investigations like X-ray or CT scan.
Hence I advice you to consult your doctor for these investigations and treatment accordingly.
