What causes knee pain?

Just recently I have noticed pain in my left knee cap when I hit in on the car stirring wheel or bumped, etc. It doesn t hurt when I walk and no pain occurs throughout the day but only when I hit it just slightly. I also notice it bothers me when I walk up stairs. I don t remember brusing it to cause this. Is it arthritis if it doesn t bother me any other time?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms could be related to local inflammation. I recommend taking ibuprofen for a couple of days. If the problem persists, consulting with an orthopedist and performing a knee joint X-ray study will be necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
