What causes knee pain when bending the knees?

I m experiencing pain around both my knees. I can t bend my knees in a baseball catcher stance. I work as a track worker and I m concerned I may not be able to bend down to do my work. I ve tried Vicks vapor rub. It only takes away the pain to help me sleep, but the symptoms are still there. What can I do?

The location and movement of a pain give clues as to what is going on cannot say in your particular case, but generally, one can tell if the knee problem is on the inside out outside and the severity and treatment is totally different. I examine legs and knees all day and kneel with the knee on the concrete many times a day. The outside is sore, bruised, locally tender and responds to simple Aspirin.

But the movement is fine and the knee is stable. If there is movement with a lax knee joint, then the inside is messed up and surgery might be helpful but it is a much more serious condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

When I bend my knees they sound like rubber bands. Always have but they never hurt til recently. The last 6 months or so my right knee has been hurting a lot mostly when it is bent for a while then hurts and pops when I straighten it. Any idea what it could be?

I am now 38, When I was 17 I went to basic training, I hurt my knee, It felt like a toothache, I couldn t put any weight on it for about a week. In time it got better. Over the years, more and more frequently, it gets like how it is now, I feel like I can t even squat down on it. Sharp pain, it feels like its coming apart when bending it. When I stand up, it pops real loud. Feels instable, I wear a stretchable brace all the time now. How do I know you are really a doctor that can help me, and not just a scam? why don t you answer my question, then if it helps, I would be glad to pay you.

Hi, I got an accidental kick on my knee at football (soccer) last night. I had a lot of pain running just below the kneecap (feels to the touch like something that links the knee and the shin) I stopped running and the pain went, so I played on for 20 minutes without any pain or discomfort. However when I got home, it really hurt, and it now hurts bending, going up and down the stairs and using the brake and clutch pedals in my car. Any idea what it could be and how long the pain will last?
