What Causes Knee Pain For My Six Year Old Daughter?
my six year old girl has been having knee pain on & off for 1-2 months,lately been saying her back hurts and wants me to rub her back hard and for a long time.I bought her a "Bob-Opedic" mattress(feels great) but this was bought before all her pain started.I also use a warm heating pad on her knee & back,trying not to use medication. My question is this an early sign I should be worried about without exposed to x-rays more than she needs. Concerned Mom/Christine.P.S. I also live in Rhode Island..could this be the weather(arthritis) or just getting taller?

I think what she needs is an orthopedic surgeon to take a look at her. Right away. Two months of this kind of pain is too long to be - excuse me - asking questions on the net or wondering about the weather or her height. Please don't get me wrong, I am not trying to insult you or your intellect, it's just that - she is a kid, and needs urgent attention. The possiblities are rheumatism of some kind, or an injury related problem.
