What Causes Knee Buckling Along With Pain Under The Knee Cap?
48 yr retired military, right knee, while walking my knee buckles, and major pain making it difficult to walk and bear weight. I apply icy hot and a knee brace just to help but does very little. No swelling, cap tender to touch and pain is directly under knee cap. Any ideals of what might be wrong?
See, if there is any ligament injury like medial or lateral meniscal injury to the knee then it does pain like this around the kneecap.
So, we need a detailed examination of the leg in a clinic and with some tests, we will be able to find the problem. You can even get an x-ray of the knee done just to rule out any other condition.
If we could find out any condition, then we can obviously treat it and pain will be definitely subsided. For now, you can take any painkillers like Paracetamol, Ibuprofen, diclofenac, Tramadol, etcetera.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Archana
