What Causes Joint Pain And Itching All Over The Body?

I have an ANA blood test of 640, I have severe joint pain, numbness, tingling, itching all over, recent SOB, with apparent lung damage ( I was told I had ground glass appearance in the bottom of my lungs) and my PFT was abnormal, I have a drop in O2 sats when walking. The Rheumatologist I was seeing won t treat me any more because I can not take gabapentin as it causes severe chest pain (which is how they found out about the ground glass appearance of my lungs). She also says that since IF this is an auto immune process that until it attacks my Kidneys she can t/won t do anything else. It was suggested that I have fibromyalgia, possible Lupus ( but although I have rashes on my body I have not had one on my face and again it hasn t affected my kidneys yet) or possibly MS. Now I really don t want any of these but I also truly want to be able to sleep, and not cry when I turn over at night from the pain, to be able to get thru a work day without having to go to the bathroom to cry because of pain, or trembling so bad its hard to even write or perform my job. I get getting odd off the wall minor infections that won t go away even with antibiotics( eye infections that come and go, sinus infections, ear infections). I have a moderately low Vitamen D (17 was the last count it dropped 2 points after taking 50,000 units of Vit D for 12 weeks). I keep going to my general physician but they can t seem to help me nor do they seem to want to take the time to help me figure out how to fix my self. They tend to focus on just the symptoms at the moment not everything that is going on.

There are other rheumatologists.
A level of 640 is quite high and strongly implies an auto-immune disease.
cannot say in your particular case, but generally, this would be diagnosed and treated. No autoimmune disease HAS to affect the kidneys. Most don't. Lupus is certainly possible. CREST--an autoimmune disease that gives skin thickening and esophageal problems (but not necessarily the kidneys) would be one of several others.
