What Causes Itchy Vagina Despite Taking Azithromycin For Yeast Infection And Chlamydia?

Hello,I ve recently been treated for chlamydia and a yeast infection. I took two tablets of Azithromycin what will be a week ago tomorrow and I also took 1 single tablet of OZOLE Fluconazole the day after. It s not been 6 days since treatment and in still finding myself very itchy down there and stomach craps alongside discharge and occasionally burning urinating followed by a sore/ uncomforatble area afterwards. I am however due for my period any day now, would I still be having thoese symptoms due to this or have I not been treated correctly. I m very uncomfortable and worried I have not been treated. What would you advice be?

Hello,

Did you take just two tablets of Azithromycin and one of Fluconazole? I am afraid that incomplete course of antibiotic may not have eliminated infection completely. In addition, one tablet of Fluconazole is also not enough to remove the fungal infection which is causing you itching and burning without any relief. I would advise you to start Fluconazole 150 mg again for 7-10 days.

While continuing the medicine, do not wear tight fitting clothes and switch to cottons. Restrict use of scented soaps, perfumes, hot tubs and bubble baths till the symptoms relieve. Restrict your sugar intake.

If you do not feel relieved in 10 days, a swab analysis in necessary along with blood test to determine complete blood counts.
