What Causes Itchy Throat And Cough While Having Bronchitis?

i had a cough without any phlegm coming out its been a week now. i tried flumicil for 2 days but nothing happens. the doctor says its acute bronchitis and gave me antitussive medicines but its been 4 days now still no phlegm. my throat is really itchy and i cant sleep properly.

I can understand your concern.
Most common cause for bronchitis is upper respiratory tract infection (URTI).
And viral infection is most likely cause of URTI. It causes sore throat, itching, dry coughing etc.
So better to follow these steps for better symptomatic relief.
1. Avoid stress and tension. Avoid oily and spicy food.
2. Start antihistamines and anti inflammatory drugs.
3. Do warm water gargles 5-6 times a day.
4. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
5. Avoid hard to chew food.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in 5-6 days.
