What Causes Itchy, Small And Red Bumps Around My Eyes?

I have been experiencing small red bumps that are itching around my eyes. They also appear around my nose and some also around my chin, a few even on my forehead. However the only ones that itch somewhat are the ones around my eyes. My eyelids are also very red. This has been going on for about a year now. The bumps will disappear and then reappear. They are also sore to the touch around my eyes, but nowhere else are they sore. The bumps are not filled with fluid, but they are raised in appearance...about the size of a pimple. I m 66 year old, female. I had one dermatologist quickly without really examining the spots tell me it was eczema. My young granddaughter has this condition, but it s nothing like what I have. ..Hesitant to believe it s eczema.

hi,
thank you for putting up your query on HCM.
as per your history, you may have seborrheic dermatitis or allergic dermatitis.
i would like to advise:
1. avoid hot, humid environment, as sweating will aggravate the condition.
2. if i would have been your treating doctor, i would have treated this condition with oral antifungals and topical topisone m(clobetasone butyrate and miconazole combination) twice a day for 4 weeks.
3. also, you may apply white soft paraffin over the lesions.
4. you may also take tab levocetrizine bd for itching.

wishing you good health.
thank you.
