What Causes Itchy Skin?

My daughters skin is itchy. It appears as if she has little bites on her skin on her tummy, back, neck and sides of her breast under armpits about 4 down. Her symptoms are: itchy body all over, feels hot, starting to get difficult to breathe she says. We are just applied cortisone where the bites appeared and gave her benedryll and 1 Tylenol and are currently icing it down. What should we do?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It seems that probably your daughter may be having lichen urticatus. You kindly consult the dermatologist for the firm diagnosis.

I would suggest...

- antihistaminics like levocetirizine
- steroids in tappering dose
- apply mild steroid cream
- protection from insects
- avoidance of soap bath

I hope this would help.

Thanks.
