What Causes Itchy Red Bumps On Face After Using Lavender Essential Oil?

I used lavender essential oil on neck and face, I broke out in painful rash/abrasions and tiny bumps and red ichy all over I know it was an allergic reaction, I'm using ice pack to bring down the swelling and reduce the heat on my skin what can I do at home, benadryl cream hurts

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain itchy red rashes along with bumps over the face seems to be due to allergic reaction to lavender oil and seems to have caused chemical injury to the skin..
I would suggest you to continue doing cool compresses over the face..
You can also apply Calamine lotion to soothe the skin..
Take oral anti allergics like Benadryl or Allegra as it will help in reducing inflammation, redness and itching..
You can apply cooled aloevera gel over the face as it has anti-inflammatory antibacterial properties as well as lubricate the skin..
You can also splash cold water over the face frequently..
Do not scratch the face when there is itching as it can increase inflammation and pain..
In case if there is still no resolution you can consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated..
