What Causes Itchy, Red And Swollen Rashes On The Right Knee?

I have bug bites that are 2 in. in diameter and red and swollen. They itch really bad. I had 2 or 4 on my right knee and swelled up the whole knee and it hurt to take a step. Each place I have a bite it swells the joints around it. I am allergic to benedril and cortisone. I had some Benedril gel cream and put it on because I could not stand the itch and then got more hives in other places that there was not any bites. I then tried cortaid cream that too made more hives. What should I do?

Your skin sounds too sensitive.The symptoms you present are local reactions to the bites.Being allergic to benedril and cortisone will surely mean you will be allergic to any other drug of these groups.However, the fear now is that the rashes might get infected and treating will be more challenging.I will suggest you clean the spots with anti-septic solutions like cyteal, take a pain medication like ibuprofen for the inflammation and see a Dermatologist for evaluation.
