What Causes Itchy Rash On The Scalp And Swollen Lymph Nodes?

I have a bug bite of some sort on my scalp on the right side of my head. It itched in the beginning but now it just hurts. Not excruciating pain, more nagging. Also, I have a stye on my right eye and my glands right in front of my right ear are swollen. I just think it is strange to have all of that going on within a few inches of one another.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Swollen lymph node in front of your right ear are due to due allergy/inflammation induced by bug bite on your scalp on the right side of your head. I advise to apply cold compresses locally and calamine lotion on the itchy skin.

Observe for any abnormal symptom (e.g. fever or swollen joints); if yes, should consult immediately with your caring doctor as might need prescription medicines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini,
