What Causes Itchy, Painful And Sensitive Red Spots On Hands?

Yes and thank you....i am having some itching and some mild red spots on my hands but what worries me is that my hands hurt (on the palm area) when i touch something and the tips of my finger tips are very sensitive to touching things and there are some red spots that actually hurt when i touch them.....what could that be? Thank you again,...Steve Sawyer

Hi,

I can understand your concern for red itchy painful lesions on hands,fingers and palms. I feel that most probably you may be having allergic or irritant contact dermatitis. There may be some cause...irritant or allergen...like soap, dust,pollens,cosmetics.cloths,wool,grass..etc. You may consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis.

I would suggest...

- antihistaminic like levocetirizine
- steroid in tappering dose
- antibiotic short course
- application of combined cream of steroid and antibiotics
